Event: Lilac Festival

The annual 4th Street Lilac Festival in Calgary is this Sunday May 29th, 2011. The festival celebrates the lilac flower and the festival first began in 1989 by the 4th Street business revitalization zone. Although the forecast for Sunday is calling for some rain, I plan on going down to the festival and indulging in the music, food and all it has to offer. I'll also be out with my camera taking pictures of Calgary's street style.... Can't wait!!!

Rachel Pally is a Los Angeles designer who makes beautiful clothes for beautiful women and I love her for that. Her dresses are feminine,comfortable and fits in all the right places. Her dresses can be worn by every women and  is flattering on any body shape.She specializes in maxi dresses and skirts, but she also makes mini-skirts, blouses and jumpsuits. I wore my Rachel Pally dress to a lunch date with the bf a few weeks ago and he couldn't take his eyes off me...LOL  Below are some of my favorite dresses from her collection.

The Oxfords

I've been eyeing these Steve Madden Gold Glitter Oxfords for the last month and a half and can't decide if I should purchase them or not. I love it when girls pair a nice pair of oxfords with high waisted trousers and a nice feminine blouse. I especially love this gold color because It can easily transition from the winter season to spring/summer and can be worn during the daytime or at night. Simple, but Chic!! Below are some of my favorite celebs wearing flat oxfords.

I did a post about a month ago about my Summer Must Haves and on my list was a Marc by Marc Jacob Messenger Bag in red. I have been searching for the PERFECT summer everyday handbag and I am happy to say that I have found it. Let me introduce you to my new Marc by Marc Jacob Classic Q Groovee Satchel!

Above is my lovely new Handbag, but I purchased it in the same red as the first handbag. Its 100% leather, red and big enough to fit whatever I want in it. Perfection!!!

Alberta Fashion Week : Day 1

This past Thursday May 19th, was Day 1 of Alberta Fashion Week so my girl V and I headed downtown to catch the opening night show. The show started off with APT 22 followed by Mealan and then Bellissima. My favorite looks were definitely from Apt 22 without a doubt. I loved the L.A boho chic looks and I wanted everything from the accessories to the shoes. I thoroughly enjoyed mingling with some of Calgary's fashionistas and meeting fashion lovers like myself.

This Above dress with gold gladiator platform shoes from Apt 22 was definitely one of my fav looks.

Style: Crop Tops

If you haven't noticed, crop tops are back this season and I am loving the different looks be it silk, cotton or satin. I personally prefer the cotton t-shirt crop top because it is more forgiving and fits more loosely than silk or satin. I've also noticed that they come in different lengths, so pretty much anyone can get away with this look without having to show too much skin. Below are some of my favorite looks.

This is the way I would wear my crop top. Combat boots and denim shorts.
