San Francisco Adventures

Union Square

I'm back from San Francisco and I had the best time ever!! The city was filled with lots of fun things to do and I got to do everything and more on my travel San Francisco list. My first night in San Francisco was unadventurous to say the least. We checked into our hotel and we were greeted by the cutest lady at the front desk who gave us a map and a brochure on what there was to do in the city.We headed straight to our room, changed and headed out towards Union Square to see what the city was all about. I honestly wasn't expecting San Fransisco to be as windy as it was and I wasn't dressed appropriately for the weather. I thing I would advice anyone going to San Francisco is to always dress in layers because the weather changes very quickly from warm and sunny to windy and foggy very quickly.  Dinner that night left a very unpleasant taste in our mouth and we returned back to the room feeling less enthusiast about the rest of the trip.

The rest of our trip turned out to be the best time we have had in a while. Some of the things we did included a baseball game, LOTS and LOTS  of shopping in Union Square, a trip to Napa Valley and Sonoma for wine tasting, a visit to Alcatraz Island, Fishermans Wharf, Chinatown, Haight and Ashbury and lots more.

We didn't really explore the night life in San Francisco so I can't really say much about that, but honestly, it didn't look like the city had much of a night life. One thing I noticed about the city was the overwhelming presence of the homeless on every corner of the street, but it was something we got used to and we found entertaining after a few days. I'll be blogging more in the next few days of one of my fav vintage stores in San francisco with all of my beautiful finds and more of what I did.

Versace for H&M

Well if you haven't heard by now H&M is continuing their amazing collaborations and this time it is with Italian designer Versace. I can't get too excited about it because H&M stores in Calgary won't be receiving any of the stock.. *sad face* At least I don't have to wait in line for hours just to get an item from the collection that might potentially be sold out before I get into the store.. The collection designed by Gianni Versace's sister, Donatella Versace, will include 40 pieces for women and 20 pieces for men, as well as shoes, accessories and home goods.

I absolutely love this dress!!

VERSACE for H&M will be in stores November 17th, followed by a Spring collection January 17th 2012.

Watch the video to learn more about the collaboration!

XOXO

Shop Vintage!

One of my favorite vintage store in San Francisco is Wasteland, but don't be fooled by the name because this store is full of beautiful vintage designer clothing, shoes and accessories at very affordable prices. Wasteland is located in the famous Haight and Ashbury district of the city. The Haight-Ashbury district is noted for its role as a center of the 1960s hippie movement, a post-runner and closely associated offshoot of the Beat generation or beat movement. Haight and Asbury is filled with lots of  local designer boutiques that carry one of  a kind clothing, shoes and accessories. Wasteland also carries some new clothing, but it is mostly filled with vintage items.

The store is filled with racks of shoes and boots and it tends to get overwhelming when trying to go through it. One thing I do like about the store is how all the cloths are tagged and well organized. While browsing through the store I found a vintage Gucci hangbag, Prada and Michael Kors shoes, Gucci and Hermes scarfs and lots more!

Honestly there are so many beautiful things in this store that you might spend a whole day in there.
So next time you're in San Francisco be sure to check out Wasteland.
