I don't need an invite to escape the hustle of my busy work life, so when the opportunity came to visit Vancouver, I was all over it. Armed with my camera, an open mind and a secret plot to shop, I arrived in Vancouver without ceremony.
The Sky train was God sent as it brought the bf and I downtown, literally within mere blocks from the
St Regis Hotels where we stayed. A recently renovated 1900s hotel with quite a few selling points such as complimentary breakfast, WiFi, Fiji bottled water just to name a few and not to mention the staff at the hotel were amazing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vancouver.
I couldn't help but notice Aritzia, Holt Renfrew and H&M just to name a few just across the street from my hotel. It was more temptation than a mere mortal can handle. So I went shopping. I made some rare finds shopping, which took alot of the sting out of the dreaded 12% HST they slap on commerce. I will be blogging about my finds in my next few posts so stay tuned.
On the second day our plans to go see Stanley park and the Aquarium got drowned in the unrelenting rain. So off I went again for another day of shopping. In the evening we treated ourselves to dinner at the Joe Fortes restaurant, A high end steak house with a homely feel to it. The food was amazing and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Vancouver.
Overall, my first visit to Vancouver was fun and I'll definitely be back to visit in the near future. Below are a few pictures from my trip.
