Stampede Wear

Its my favorite time of the year again.. Stampede time! With Stampede a little over a week away, my city is buzzing with anticipation because this year will mark the 100th year anniversary of Stampede. Just as important as the events taking place during Stampede, is Stampede fashion which will be on the minds of every Calgarian and tourist. The Elegant West Fashion Show and Live Auction

Sorry for the lack of  posts lately.. Summer happened to me. Three weeks ago I was invited to  " The Elegant West" Fashion Show & Live Auction at the historic Lougheed House by my good friend Doug Wong and I was excited because It was an opportunity for me to check out an important part of Calgary’s history and also to get some ideas for Stampede fashion this year. The proceeds from the event went to Hull Child and Family Services and the Lougheed House Conservation Society. Check out some pictures from the event

I can't quite pin point what intrigues me more about her: be it her I don't give a you know what attitude, her impeccable style or her ability to express her feelings so beautifuly with words, leaving you wanting more. Safeway Father's Day Run/ Walk 2012

As much as I would love to talk about all the cool gadget/ gifts that dad would love for father's day, I have decided to instead talk about a cause that is very dear to my heart. A close family member of mine is a survivor of Prostate Cancer and I can understand the importance of providing support to them and raising awareness.We all known someone or at least have friends who knows someone suffering from this illness, hence why my sister and I are participating in the Safeway Father's Day Walk/Run on Sunday June 17th, 2012 to show our support.
   

 Facts about Prostate Cancer

-Prostate cancer is the most common cancer to afflict Canadian men. It will impact one in seven Canadian men in their lifetime.

-Over 90% of prostate cancer cases are curable if detected and treated in their earliest stages. Early detection is key - men at age 40 should have a discussion with their doctor about their prostate cancer risk, and ask for a PSA test and other forms of early detection.
