Leap Of Faith
Happy Friday! Sorry for my lack of blog post for the past week or so, I've been busy making some important life decisions, while still dealing with the everyday stresses of life. I recently walked away from a job that I hated so much and felt trapped in, but one that afforded me an extravagant lifestyle of weekly shopping sprees, fancy dinners, countless spontaneous vacations and the luxury of owning my own home. Although, I was relieved that I no longer had to deal with the bullshit, panick started to set in with fear of how I was going to be able to maintain my lifestyle, but more importantly, handle my added responsibility of being a homeowner.
It was in my moments of hopelessness that I decided I needed to take Joyce's Closet; a business that I had started 7 months ago to a whole new level. The business had been running itself with very little effort on my part and something had to change and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. If I wanted to succeed and make Joyces's Closet a viable source of income, then I needed to dedicate more of my time and effort and also step outside of my comfort zone and do things that I had never done before.
Fast forward to 5 weeks later and I can tell you that although it has not been that easy walking away from a job that I had depended on for so long, I can tell you that it was the best decision I ever made. I'm a firm believer that everything happens in life for a reason and how we react to what happens, determines our future. In the past 5 weeks, I have experienced an incredible amount of success and growth with my business just by dedicating more of my time and effort to it and this is just the beginning. I am much more happier than I was 5 weeks ago and I can't express enough gratitude to God and to my friends and my family especially my big brother Jeff, who has been a voice of reasoning with his constant advice and words of wisdom during this transition. I know I don't say this enough , but I LOVE YOU BRO and I am extremely proud of the man and amazing father that you have become. With the new direction, I've been trying to promote my business locally and have been participating in outdoor pop-up markets/events. The response has been incredible and I want to thank everyone that has shown me love so far. This past weekend, I was one of the vendors at Market Walk in Haultain Park in the Victoria Park neighbourhood downtown Calgary and I had an amazing time. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and thanks to the organizers of the events for being such great hosts and also to my lovely friend and cousin for helping out that day. You are both truly appreciated. Check out some pictures from the event.
