Greatest Moments of 2014

“Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. Think only of the best, work only for the best and expect only the best. Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. Live in faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.” — Unknown

This year has taken me on a journey that I never really expected to go on. It has challenged, strengthened, matured and blessed me immensely. It's absolutely mind blowing that the year is almost coming to an end. Looking back, I can confidently say that 2014 was an incredible year filled with many lows, but the HIGHS outweighed the lows. As the year comes to an end, it's time to reflect on the past and focus on the future. At the end of 2013, I blogged about creating a gratitude jar where I would write down the daily things that I am grateful for. There are so many things that I am grateful for that words can't describe and my gratitude jar is overflowing

I experienced enormous success in every aspect of my life,  particularly, with Joyce's Closet. I'm both grateful and humbled with how much my life has changed over the past year. I never imagined the business would grow to what it is today and I am grateful for everyone who has helped and supported me along the way. Joyce's Closet saw 10 times more revenue than it did in 2013 and I can only imagine what 2015 has in store.

Besides the business, I also experienced personal victories which I can't get into much details about, but ones that completely changed my perspective on life. I got to celebrate life and a milestone birthday of my father, a man, who has been a great source of inspiration and motivation. A man, who taught me that you must work hard for everything you own and that success is not only measured by what you accomplish, but by the opposition you encounter, and the courage with which you maintain the struggle against overwhelming odds. I've met some of the most amazing people this year, dropped some along the way and learned lots of life lessons which has made me the strong woman that I am today.

Here are some of the highlights of 2014 in no particular order.

1. I was invited as a guest on CityTV Breakfast Television talking about Joyce's Closet

2. I had the pleasure of interviewing Mayor Naheed Nenshi for the Cover of Fashionsign-ezine during Calgary International Film Festival

3. Joyce's Closet made it on National Television when I was invited and interview on CTV Morning New Live.

4. Joyce's Closet was featured on Shaw TV as one of the up and coming businesses of 2014 in Calgary.

5. A once in a lifetime opportunity presented itself to open my own store front earlier this year for a few months.
5. I was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year for the second year in a row by the Obsidian Awards of Alberta.

As 2014 comes to an end, I have been articulating a clear set of goals for 2015 with regards to the business and my personal life. I am no longer chasing success, I am now chasing purpose. I want to do what makes me happy. I am in a better place than I was yesterday.

Wishing you all an amazing 2015. One that is filled with lots of love, peace and happiness.
I'll be spending the first few days of the New Year in the Rocky Mountains where my soul is the most at peace

xoxo
